Achilles Tendinopathy Pain

Achilles tendinopathy refers to the Achilles tendon which connect the calf muscles (gastrocnemius) to the heel bone (calcaneus) and it is actually the thickest and strongest tendon in the human body. Despite that it can still be subjugated to wear and tear through overuse in sporting exercise such as running and dancing. Can also be caused by over stressing the tendon by moving on slopes and hills excessively if the body isn’t adapted to such strain.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Audible grating/creaking feeling when moving the ankle
  • Swelling at the back of the ankle
